FAQ

Questions, answered.

Buying

Is there a free trial?

The free download is the full app. Until you enter a license key, only the built-in demo plays to the PA, so you can try every part of it on your own speakers first. There's no time limit.

How many Macs can I use it on?

One license covers up to 2 Macs at once, for example the Mac at the announcer's table and a spare.

What happens if I stop renewing?

Your Mac keeps running the version it has, for good. Only newer versions and using the iPhone Remote away from your Wi-Fi need a current plan. Renew any time to catch up.

Can we pay by invoice or purchase order?

Yes. Write to info@easyeventpaging.com and we'll send an invoice with 30 days to pay. A 3-year prepay saves about 15%.

Is there a nonprofit or school discount?

There's one price for everyone, kept low so volunteer-run events can afford it. Schools and organizations can pay by invoice.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. The first purchase can be refunded in full within 30 days, for any reason, and a yearly renewal within 14 days of the charge. Email support@easyeventpaging.com and say which organization the license is for. A refunded first purchase turns the license key off and cancels the plan; Macs already activated keep the version they have. The full terms are in the License Agreement.

Can I move it to a new Mac?

Yes. Deactivate the old Mac on the Manage your license page, then activate the new one with the same key.

Do I need Easy Event Suite?

No. Easy Event Paging works on its own. Easy Event Suite is a separate online platform for running the rest of an event: vendors, contracts and payments, performers and schedules, venues, campgrounds and sponsors. Each is bought separately.

Setup

What hardware do I need?

A Mac on macOS 14 or later and a USB audio adapter, about $30, plugged into your amp's AUX input. For most PAs that's all.

Will it work with our PA?

If your amp or mixer has an AUX, line or RCA input, yes. Easy Event Paging sends a steady, matched level to it, and its sound presets suit horn speakers and help protect the amp.

MacBook or Mac mini?

Either. A MacBook is easy to bring to each event. A Mac mini suits a permanent install: set it to start after a power cut, open Easy Event Paging at login and turn on automatic Go Live, and it goes Live again by itself.

Does it need the internet?

Only once, to activate. After that it runs without internet. The iPhone works over your Wi-Fi, or over the internet when you're away from it.

Will my Mac's other sounds go out on the PA?

Not while you're Live. Go Live keeps email chimes, alerts and videos on the Mac's own speakers, and Go to Standby puts everything back.

Running the day

Can volunteers run it?

Yes. The volunteer lock lets them play and stop announcements without changing the setup, and Pre-Show Check tells them in plain words if anything needs a look.

What if the cable gets unplugged?

The header shows OUTPUT MISSING in red straight away, and the Log records any announcement that couldn't play. Plug it back in and the next announcements play as normal.

Can we talk live?

Your wireless mic stays on the amp, as it is today. You can also talk from the iPhone, or from a mic on the Mac.

Is it an emergency notification system?

No. It has a PIN-locked attention tone and buttons for urgent messages, but in a real emergency use the venue's live microphone on the amp and follow your own emergency procedures.

Compatibility

Is there a Windows version?

No. Easy Event Paging is a Mac app, with an iPhone remote.

Does it run on iPad?

Not yet.

Which macOS do I need?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Help and support

Where is the manual?

It's built into the app: choose Help, then Easy Event Paging Help. It covers setup, the event day and what to do when something goes wrong.

How do I get help?

Write to support@easyeventpaging.com. In Pre-Show Check, click Copy Report and paste it into your email, so we can see what the app sees.

Where do I get the iPhone Remote?

Easy Event Paging Remote will be free on the App Store. You pair it by scanning a QR code on the Mac.

Try it at your next event.

$299 for the first year, then $149 a year for updates and the iPhone Remote.
Stop renewing and your version keeps working.
